As a travel agent, I’ve pretty much heard it all.
Things happen when you travel, so it’s very important to be prepared for any situation. I hope you find the following tips useful!
Tip 1 – Be Open-minded
When travelling in other countries, take time to visit local markets, get off the beaten path and ask locals about their favorite restaurants. Keep an open mind and you will experience more than you’ll ever know!
Remember that you are the visitor.
Tip 2 – Have a Packing List
In the rush before you leave on a trip, so many things can be forgotten or left behind! You don’t want to get to your destination then realize you forgot your favorite camera!
Tip 3 – Buy Travel Insurance
Most people have car and health insurance but forget to get traveler’s insurance on their trips. Sometimes bags get lost, things get stolen, and people get hurt. Nobody thinks these things will happen to them – but why take the risk?
Tip 4 – Take a Picture of your License/Passport
Just in case, it’s always good to have your ID in a secure place! If the airport loses your bag or you accidentally left it in your last hotel, it’s good to have a safe copy in the cloud.
Tip 5 – Beware of Free Public Wi-Fi
As a good rule of thumb… don’t use public Wi-Fi unless absolutely necessary. And do not enter bank account info, passwords or anything else useful, just in case. Starbucks and McDonald’s will probably be your safest bet!
Tip 6 – Pack a Portable Battery
You’ll be taking pictures, mapping destinations, and more which takes a lot out of your phone. You may not always have an outlet handy so a small portable charger will be a HUGE help!
Remember, I’m always here to help! Give me a call if you have any questions about an upcoming trip or if you’d like to plan one today!
